Carbon Stringer: Carbon stringers are used to add stiffness without adding weight. That makes a ski handle more responsively while keeping lightweight. You're only as good as your legs, so a light ski is a nimble ski so you can charge without tiring out.
Volkl 3D Ridge Technology: It has become a symbol of Völkl lightweight construction. The distinctive characteristic of this technology is a raised central ridge that sharply levels out toward the edge, both in front of and behind the binding. This reduces the inertial mass around the fulcrum to a minimum and significantly enhances the agility of the ski. At the same time, the center ridge allows for a precise dimensioning of the hardness distribution, which leads to an especially harmonious flex on the ski. Despite the weight savings, the 3D.RIDGE ensures that there is no compromise whatsoever in the ski‘s durability and elasticity.
Moderate Taper: Moderate Taper lightens up the tip and tail of the ski a bit so that you are't fighting too much swing weight as you bring your turns around from one edge to the other. It realizes, however, that all things are best in moderation. This maxim holds true in this instance because to much weight reduction in your tips and tails reduces the inertia of the ski for resisting deflections to its direction. A perfect balance is struck between weight that drives the ski and nimbleness.
Sidewall Construction: Full Sidewall/Sandwich boards are more rigid and great at dampening vibrations when riding at high speeds.
Volkl Full Rocker: Originally called Extended Low Profile, Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. As soon as the ski is on edge, the skier gains uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
